Colonial Chapter PVA Membership Events

Welcome to the Colonial Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America’s events page! Connect with our community through in-person and virtual events designed to empower veterans with spinal cord injuries or diseases, their families, and caregivers. From membership meetings to adaptive sports and advocacy initiatives, our events foster camaraderie, support, and accessibility in Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey.

Upcoming In-Person Events for Veterans
Join us at the Colonial Chapter office in Newark, DE, or at local venues for engaging in-person events:

  • Monthly Board of Directors Meetings: Held the second Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. at 700 Barksdale Rd, Unit 2, Newark, DE 19711. All members are encouraged to attend and contribute to our mission.
  • Gallen Getaway: Caretaker Retreat held annually where members can get together, enjoy adaptive sports, adventures and fun while their caretaker can do events catered to them for a better quality of life all around.
  • Adaptive Sports Programs: Participate in wheelchair basketball, bowling, track and field, tennis, hunting, fishing, and more. Our sports events promote rehabilitation, self-esteem, and community connection.
  • Advocacy Seminars: Meet with local, state, and federal officials to discuss veterans’ rights, accessibility, and VA healthcare improvements.

  • Sports and Recreation Programs: Virtual clubs like our Colonial Creators, Gearhead Club, and Outdoor Adventure bring intereaction and events to members online and in person.
