The Colonial Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America (www.colonialpva.org) (www.colonialpva.org) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for veterans with spinal cord injuries or diseases (such as MS and ALS). Serving Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC, the chapter provides advocacy, adaptive sports, peer support, accessibility aids (like ramps, vehicle modifications, and wheelchairs), and other programs to empower veterans, their families, and caregivers.
Your generous support helps fund these vital initiatives. Here are the main ways to give to the Colonial Chapter:
- Online Donation (Recommended and Easiest)Make a secure, tax-deductible donation directly through PayPal.
- Click the Donate Now Button to make your donation directly to the chapter.
- Every contribution supports programs like accessibility modifications, sports/recreation, advocacy, and veteran services.
- PVA Cars Donation Program (Vehicle Donations)
Support the Colonial Chapter and national PVA efforts by donating your car, truck, boat, RV, motorcycle, or other vehicle through the PVA Cars program (managed by Charitable Adult Rides & Services – CARS).
- This program accepts vehicles in any condition (running or not), handles free pickup, provides tax-deductible receipts, and maximizes proceeds for PVA’s mission—including local chapter support.
- Start the process at: https://pva.careasy.org/home
- When donating, you can mention or inquire about directing benefits toward the Colonial Chapter (contact them directly to confirm designation options if available).
This is a convenient, impactful way to give without cash—your vehicle helps fund ramps, adaptive equipment, events, and more for paralyzed veterans in the region.
- Planned Giving
Consider including the Colonial Chapter or Paralyzed Veterans of America in your estate plans through planned giving options like bequests, trusts, annuities, or other legacy gifts. These powerful donations provide long-term support for chapter programs and national advocacy.
- To designate your gift specifically for the Colonial Chapter, contact the chapter directly (details below) or PVA’s planned giving team to discuss how to structure it for local impact. Planned gifts often offer tax advantages and allow you to create a lasting legacy for veterans in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and DC.
- Sponsorship Opportunities
Become a sponsor to support the Colonial Chapter’s events, programs, and mission while gaining visibility and recognition. Sponsorships help fund adaptive sports tournaments, fishing outings, hunts, getaways, and other community activities that benefit paralyzed veterans.
- Examples of chapter-sponsored or co-sponsored events include adaptive bowling tournaments, turkey hunts, adaptive fishing trips on the Fish Redeemer, and Gallen Getaways—opportunities where sponsors can contribute to make these accessible and impactful.
- Benefits may include logo placement, event mentions, acknowledgments in newsletters (“The Ramp”), social media shoutouts (Facebook, Instagram, X)
), and association with a respected veteran-support organization.
- For details on current sponsorship levels, packages, upcoming event opportunities, or to discuss customized support (e.g., corporate, individual, or in-kind), contact the chapter team directly—they welcome inquiries and can tailor options to your interests.
- Participate in Fundraising Events
